It seems I'm often edgy
I can think I'm okay
or even better
nerves zing
and I'm all a jangle
I breathe
remind myself it's okay
and keep going

I'm writing prose and poetry for the #AtoZchallenge and in honor of National Poetry Month. What are you writing?

  1. I must have been lucky. After 40 years of periods from hell, I had an extremely easy menopause. I rarely got severe hot flashes, and when I did, they were very brief. I usually got what is referred to as an "ember flash," a slight increase in warmth which lasts longer but isn't as debilitating.
Unfortunately, due to fibroids and endocrine issues, my endometrium is abnormally thick. They did a biopsy and found that the cells were normal, which means only a slight increase in the possibility of endometrial cancer. My OB/GYN is gung-ho for me to have a hysterectomy. Me, not so much. I'm not attached to my uterus, but it is attached to me, and I prefer to avoid major surgery whenever possible.

  2. I hate the "edgy alert" that comes out of nowhere. Good poem. - Erin Penn (

  3. Great post. Love the picture of the turtle with the word "edgy"; a little unexpected and definitely worked well for your word and poem choice I think.

    With Love,

  4. Hi Morgan, I liked the theme of your challenge. good going.
