My skin feels like it is on inside out a lot lately, everything feels slightly off or a lot off. Part of it is the pandemic and part of it is the cycle of life I am in. I spend a lot of time alone, partly by choice and partly, well, the pandemic. But even without the pandemic, I don't know that I would be spending much time with other people. More now than ever in my life, it feels difficult to be with people. That's why I spend most of my time with dogs and cats. They don't judge and they love, mostly, unconditionally.
I've decided to combine day one and day two of OctPoWriMo.

Inside me is light
peaking from small little cracks
the broken places
skin chaffs and prickles
at vulnerability
opening to feel
Picking at the cracks
widening, growing brighter
letting more light out
Oooh, sends shivers that does

ReplyDeleteLoved your artwork and your poem. Beautifully expressed!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely feeling this whole post. I so get choosing to be alone. It's how I feel lately too. I really just need some quiet time away from everyone, not for an extended period, but a couple of weeks in a secluded beach house or cabin in the woods sounds fantastic.
ReplyDeleteThe poem is wonderful and reminds me of Lindsey Stirling's Shatter Me song.
Very nice!
