Letting go of all the extraneous stuff so that you can be present on the page can be really hard. I woke up in a bad place this morning. I woke up obsessing about a relationship in my life that no matter what I do it doesn't feel good.
I did some chanting to help shift my energy. I pulled cards from my Tarot and Oracle decks and instantly had helpers and guides at my aid. I danced. I pruned and organized my flower bouquet.
The energy is beginning to flow again; my mind is clear. Inspiration is beginning to percolate. Yes feeling better. Now it is time to write.
A time before beginnings
A time before endings
A time to just be
A time now
Row80 Check In:
As some of you may know I fell down the stairs on Thursday and bruised up my left arm pretty intensely. By the next day my whole body hurt. It felt like I had played racquetball and every muscle was screaming at me. As the days go by I am slowly coming back to normal and feeling better. It put a bit of a crimp in my writing as well as it being a little more difficult to write on the weekends when my honey is home. I will have to make up for it during the week.
- Writing 20 pages - 5000 words per day for Fast Draft and having a completed book by Aug. 9 - Mostly on track, also remembered that I had 17,167 of this story that I originally started in JuNoWriMo that I hadn't been counting in my totals but it is part of the story. That means that my total for the story is actually 41,701 instead of 24,534. Made me feel a little better that my numbers were lower the last few days.
- Posting my Row80 check in at least once a week - Posted last Wed. and today is Sun. Doing great with this one!
- Finally getting my current guest posts written and completed (this may not happen until next month after Fast Draft is completed) Still on back burner
- Using my book on writing, Opening to Miracles - Writing to the Finish Line - How to Kick Start and Sustain Your Writing Process, to complete my Fast Draft novel on Shapeshifters (doesn't have a title yet) then get it published. - Getting back on track as I feel better.
That about covers it. See you all again next time for updates on this journey.

Well done on doing so well with your goals, yes you have one on the back burner, but the others are going so well, you shouldn't worry about that.
ReplyDeleteHoep this week goes just as well for you.
Thanks for the support and encouragement. I am keeping on keeping on. :D

Doing great on your goals, Morgan. I've seen your posts in the FastDraft thread and you are such a wonderful encouragement to people. Just keep pressing forward, progress is the single most important thing in successful endeavors and you have that in abundance.
ReplyDeleteHave a fantastic week :)
Thanks Gene, I appreciate the support and encouragement. I love encouraging other writers; it is one of my favorite things next to writing. I am hoping to make a huge dent in the numbers today and create a leap in my progress.

Rolling in a little late here...I hope you're feeling fully recovered after your fall. Yikes! The writing sounds like it's going really well--yay!
ReplyDeleteI just wanted to comment because when I read this I fell in love with the idea of doing some chanting, a card pull, some dancing to kind of reset the energy and help get down to the writing. I want to find a way to remind myself to do this before writing at least some of the time (because sometimes I manage to forget even things I really want to do). I love this idea. Thanks!
I am glad you found these tips helpful Kim. I too forget what I want and what is good for me sometimes. I am plugging along though and forever getting back on track. Thanks for stopping by and sharing word love with me!
