Welcome

Grab a cup of tea or coffee (oh what the heck, get a danish too!) and sit a spell. You might want to grab your notebook and pen because you never know when you will be inspired to write down a quote, or jot down a poem of your own. Words are like that, they take you on a journey and the next thing you know you are breathing life into your own magical world of words.

Empowering Your Creations with Authenticity

Sometimes when I feel creative I feel unsure about what I want to create, how I want to create it and what medium to use. I just know I have this burning desire that starts to show up as boredom or unease and builds until I can't stand not to create.

For me it often comes down to color and tecture. I love vibrant colors such as bold reds, blues, orange, yellow, and usually a dash of black. Texture has become so important to me. It must be soft or smooth. Unless of course it is a drawing, journaling or writing then it is back to being all about color.

When I look at my creations I see how infused they are with my authenticity. I may look at other art for inspiration but it always comes down to what I really like, what I really want to accomplish with my creations and what wants to be created through me. If I try and do something that isn't essentially me, it lacks luster. It certainly doesn't feel authentically me.

Empowering your creations with your essential authenticity and you will be happy with what you create.

Connections

It is interesting the connections we make on the social media surrounding us. I still believe that we need to be getting out more and making connections face to face but there is something to be said about connecting with friends online.

Anything that makes us smile or laugh has to be a good thing. Anything that we can do to help others smile and laugh is definitely a great thing.

Interacting online with my friends of late is very satisfying and entertaining. The more love I send their way the more love they send mine. Most gratifying. It isn't the same as exchanging a hug in person but there is definitely an energy exchange going on at a distance.

There is something to be said about creating a nice balance of online and in person. Maybe it is spring time that has me thinking of having a party or finding a party to go to. I am very much looking forward to the spring and summer fairs and events. Yes I do believe I am going to enjoy the season of being outdoors with friends and loved ones, sharing barbecues, picnics, dancing, walking, and just about any other reason we can find to get together. Drumming anyone?

Here's to seeing you at the park!

Celebrating the Moments

I am so excited! I just found out my first article "How to Create a Video From Your Essay" has been accepted. I am celebrating times two! First that it was accepted, second because it was accepted just the way I submitted it. I was very prepared to fix any problems they said needed to be fixed and it was accepted without needing any further editing. It is amazing how wonderful it feels to have stretched my abilities once more and have something positive happen.

Is there a project that you have been thinking about but because it is something you haven't done before you have been afraid to try it?

It is time to take the steps to make your dreams come true. If I can do it you most certainly can too. No one else can do it for you. What small step can you take? What bigger steps?

I encourage you to take those steps. I encourage you to stretch your abilities. I challenge you to do something new. It doesn't have to be perfect. It just has to be authentic to you. What stirs your blood? What excites you? What creates a time warp for you that you are so engrossed in that hours go by before you realize what time it is? Take a chance. I hope you do.

I am celebrating my moment, this moment right now. There isn't any other feeling like it. My hope is you are celebrating your moments as they happen for you as well.

Much Love to You All.

A Shadowy Day

Last night went really well with the Clutterologist. I of course couldn't stand it and had to clean all day yesterday so the place looked fairly well when she showed up. Exhausted but happy with the outcome I was very much looking forward to my one of two days that I get to have to myself in the morning to work on my writing and my next video.

Then Christie reminded me that Tuesday was the day she and I have to get up early and go to an appointment that I had completely forgotten about. Okay, I think, no problem I can still have my afternoon to write and work on creating another video (I just finished a Priestess Process video).

We didn't get home until 2:30 p.m. No problem, I have three and a half hours until Elizabeth has to go to work and my shift with Olivia begins. Christie grabs the good laptop because it was too late for her to go back to work. Alright... I will just work on my writing and later work on my next video. Elizabeth knocks on the door, "Mom my head is killing me and I really need to Lie down, can you watch Olivia for me?" Puffing out a long breath I realize today is going to be a total loss in regards to work.

Olivia has chosen today to be one of her, "Everything is frustrating me so I am going to have a tantrum every other minute." days.

It reminds me of the ol' days commercial, "Calgon take me away." I don't have time for that today either.

Meanwhile Christie has left for her workout appointment and Elizabeth is moments away from leaving for work and I am racing to get this blog post completed.

Now I am feeling moopy. It is a combination of moody and mope. As I hear my daughter getting ready to go out the door, I realize I can go turn on my fast, fun music that Olivia will love too and we can both dance out our frustrations together. As I let out another long breath, there is always Thursday.
