This time I am working on a plan that I am sharing one tip at a time on the #OctPoWriMo blog. I won't be going into any writing month again without a plan. I think that is how to achieve better results.
I have wanted to do something special in October that was a little different. I have been so focused on writing and editing my manuscript and I wanted to change it up a bit for that month before November when NaNoWriMo hits. If you enjoy writing poetry I hope you will join me.
I think putting the pressure of finishing my manuscript freaked me out a bit but the nice thing is, instead of shutting down I was able to shift and continue to create just in another avenue. Unlike in the past in which if I wasn't able to work on whatever I thought I was suppose to work on I didn't work on anything at all. I loved creating in Microsoft Paint again! I haven't done much of that because I have been writing so much. Last year was all about creating in the Microsoft Paint program and this year has been all about writing. I am hoping that next year will be about having a better creative balance.
I can't believe we are getting so close to the end of the year. This year has gone by so fast. Even though I haven't published yet I do feel I have had major breakthroughs in my writing. I still have not given up on being published by the end of the year. I am hoping that I can at least have it finished by the end of this month.

...I'm not much of a poet (and boy, do I know it! ~ba-da-ching~), but I am obsessed with writing challenges. OctPoWriMo might be worth an attempt if I don't pick up a different project, methinks. You never know what might grow out of an attempt at a poem!
ReplyDeleteHow cool that you've been able to channel that creative energy into other things, too. I've always felt that's the reason I work on so many projects...just too much energy to contain into one thing! Best of luck in more great creative endeavors, Morgan!
Thanks Laura, I greatly appreciate your support! I hope you decide to explore the world of poetry, I know I had fun with it last April for the NaPoWriMo and of course I always love a good challenge! Hah!
DeleteCreatively it is always good not to keep all the eggs in one basket, at least that is my opinion. :D
Thanks for stopping by!
Peace,
Morgan
