Welcome

Grab a cup of tea or coffee (oh what the heck, get a danish too!) and sit a spell. You might want to grab your notebook and pen because you never know when you will be inspired to write down a quote, or jot down a poem of your own. Words are like that, they take you on a journey and the next thing you know you are breathing life into your own magical world of words.

Smoke

Smoke
Wooden smell
Warms my hands
Memories of my childhood
Comforting
***
Smoke
Stinking, smothering
Stings my eyes
Memories of my ex
Unpleasant
***
Smoke
Burning inferno
Habitats being destroyed
Firemen to the rescue
Despair
***
Smoke
Smoldering heat
Surrounds my heart
Lost in your eyes
Lust
***
I kept checking my email and never received today's prompt (almost a third of the way through!) for OctPoWriMo.
Then I went on the site and saw a prompt for Smoke, with a possible palyndrome form.
I won't have time to try my hand at a palyndrome. But here are 4 elevenies about various notions, both pleasant and less so, that came to mind about smoke.

  1. Evocative - I like how each stanza gives a different perspective and that you finish on lust.

    1. Thank you. It may sound strange, but rediscovering lust is a big part of my journey towards recovery. Of course I had to finish with it ;)
